Charlie Ryan Morrison (born 20 July 2003) is afield hockey player fromNew Zealand.[1][2]
Morrison was born inChristchurch,New Zealand, on 20 July 2003.[3] His older brother,Joseph, is also a member of theBlack Sticks squad.[4]
He currently studies atLincoln University.[5]
In theFord National Hockey Championship, Morrison representsCanterbury.[6][7]
Morrison made his debut for theNew Zealand U–21 team in 2022 during theJunior Oceania Cup inCanberra.[8]
In 2023 he was named to the junior squad again.[9]
Following a successful junior debut, Morrison made his first senior appearance in 2023. He made his debut at theFIH World Cup inBhubaneswar andRourkela.[10] Throughout the year he continued to represent the national side, making appearances inseason four of theFIH Pro League and theOceania Cup inWhangārei, winning silver at the latter.[8][11]
He competed at the2024 FIH Olympic Qualifiers inMuscat.[8] At the tournament he was named as the best junior player.[12]
