Charles David Curtis (born 1939) is aBritishgeologist who has served as president of theGeological Society of London from 1992 to 1994.[1] He is an emeritus professor ofgeochemistry at theUniversity of Manchester.[2]Curtis read chemistry and geochemistry atImperial College and theUniversity of Sheffield.[3]
Curtis was chair of the Radioactive Waste Management Advisory Committee until 2004.[4] He has been the Head of Research and Development Strategy, Radioactive Waste Management Directorate,Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (formerlyNirex)[3] since 2007,[citation needed] and is a non-executive director ofDounreay Site Restoration Limited.[3]
