Roy-Charles A. CoulombeKCSS (born November 8, 1960), known asCharles A. Coulombe, is an American Catholic author, historian, and lecturer.^[1] Coulombe is known for his advocacy ofmonarchism.^[2][3]

Coulombe was raised in theHudson Valley by his parents, Guy J.C. Coulombe (1926-1996) and Patricia Coulombe (1925-2015).^[4][5][6] His father was atail gunner in thePacific Theatre ofWorld War II. They later moved toLos Angeles.^[7]

Coulombe attendedCalifornia State University, Northridge, where he obtained aBachelor of Arts in political science. He also studied at theInternational Theological Institute in Austria,^[8] to obtain aMagister Theologiae [de].^[9]

Coulombe has been an editor and movie reviewer to theNational Catholic Register, and a contributor to publications as theCatholic Herald,Success,Catholic Twin Circle, andFATE.^{[citation needed]} He is also an author with publications such as theEuropean Conservative and has been interviewed byVulture.^[10][11]

Coulombe was commended byPope John Paul II for his book Vicars of Christ: A History of the Popes, and by order of John Paul II, Coulombe was created aKnight Commander of the Order of St. Sylvester for his services rendered to theHoly See.^[12] He has later on also provided narration forABC News,Fox News, and for theBBC during the funeral of John Paul II and the election and installation ofPope Benedict XVI. Coulombe had also been awarded the Christian Law Institute's Christ King Journalism Award in 1992.^[1][13]

Coulombe served as the Western U.S. Delegate to the Grand Council ofInternational Monarchist League.^[14] Coulombe is a founding board member of theQueen of Angels Foundation, a Roman Catholic devotional society based in Los Angeles.^[15] In 1995, Coulombe as a representative of theInternational Monarchist League metMwami Kigeli V in Southern California.^[16]

He is member of the Catholic lay organisationGebetsliga (Emperor Karl League of Prayers for Peace among Nations) and an honorary member of theCroatian Royal Council.

Coulombe supports theAmerican Solidarity Party, and has creditedOtto von Habsburg as influential on his political beliefs.^[17][7] He has described himself as "not a great fan" of U.S. PresidentDonald Trump.^[18] Coulombe defended Trump during hisfirst impeachment andcriminal indictments,^[18][19] while criticizing Trump'sexpansionist policies, support for same-sex marriage, and support ofIVF.^[20][21][22] Coulombe has expressed criticism ofIsrael, describing their treatment of Palestinians as a "terrible injustice".^[23]
