Chandresh Kumari Katoch (née Rathore; born 1 February 1944) is an Indian politician belonging to theIndian National Congress party. She is a former Minister of Culture in India's central government. She was aMember of Parliament in theLok Sabha (the lower house of parliament), representingJodhpur constituency.[2]
Katoch was sworn in as Cabinet Minister in theGovernment of India on 28 October 2012, and was given the portfolio of theMinistry of Culture.[3] She is daughter ofMaharajaHanwant Singh of Jodhpur andMaharaniKrishna Kumari and is married into the royal family ofKangra withRaja Aditya Dev Chand Katoch, inHimachal Pradesh.[4] She contested but lost the2014 Indian general election.[5]
