Chamartín is anadministrative district ofMadrid,Spain and consists of the following neighbourhoods:El Viso,La Prosperidad,Ciudad Jardín,Hispanoamérica,Nueva España, andCastilla.It was originally namedChamartín de la Rosa and remained an independent municipality until it was incorporated to Madrid in 1948.[1][2]
It is bounded by thePaseo de la Castellana to the west, theAutopista de Circunvalación M-30 to the north and east, and theAutovía A-2 to the south.
Some of the landmarks of Chamartín are theGate of Europe, a pair of inclined office buildings; theSantiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of the football teamReal Madrid;Chamartín Station, the second-largest railway station in Madrid; theCuatro Torres Business Area, abusiness park that comprises the four tallestskyscrapers inSpain; and theNational Auditorium of Music (the main concert hall in Madrid) which hosts theSpanish National Orchestra.
