Chad Brown is an American retiredsoccer midfielder who played six seasons with theSeattle Sounders in theUSL First Division. He was the head coach ofNPSL teamSpokane Shadow.
In 1994, Brown played collegiate soccer atBellevue Community College. In 1996, he played forSpokane Community College. In 1996, Brown spent the summer with theSpokane Shadow.[1] In 1997, Brown transferred toFresno State where he spent his last two seasons of collegiate eligibility. In 1999, Brown served as an assistant coach with Fresno State and played for theSpokane Shadow as he finished his degree in sociology.[2] In 2000, Brown began the season with the Seattle Sounders Select before being called up to theSeattle Sounders first team in July.[3] He remained with the Sounders through the 2005 season. That season, the Sounders won theUSL First Division championship.
In 1999, Brown served as a volunteer assistant coach with Fresno State while finishing his degree.[4] When he retired from playing, he spent several years with the Crossfire Soccer Club in Redmond, Washington. In March 2006, theUniversity of Nevada-Las Vegas hired Brown as an assistant coach.[5] In March 2010, Brown became an assistant coach at the West Virginia University. In 2014, Brown was named head coach ofSpokane Shadow.[6]
