Cezerye is a semi-gelatinous traditionalTurkish dessert made from caramelisedcarrots, shreddedcoconut, and roastedwalnuts, hazelnuts, orpistachios.[1][2] Cut intomatchbox-sized rectangular chips, it is traditionally served on special occasions. It originates from theTurkish province ofMersin.[3] The preparation involves boiling and then roasting grated carrots with sugar before adding coconut and nuts.

While variations on the treat exist which replace the carrot withfig ordatepurée, the name is nonetheless derived from the word "jazriyya", which isArabic for "with carrot".[4]
