The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets: La Monnerie, La Perrière, La Morlandière, La Vallerie, La Jehannière, Les Haies, Les Loges, La Gaumonnière, L'Abbaye de Belle Étoile, La Hagrie, Épivent, Visance and Cerisy-Belle-Étoile.[4]
The commune is traversed by theNoireau and Visance rivers, as well as the Fontaines stream.
The former Abbey of Belle-Etoile is a thirteenth century former abbey established after the conquest of Normandy byPhilip II of France. It was made aMonument historique in 1926.[6]
Les Bichoiseries is an annualContemporary music festival each June that occurs on Mount Cerisy.[7] It attracts about 6,600 vistors per year.[8] The festival has been going since 2005, originally hosted inLa Chapelle-Biche before moving to Cerisy-Belle-Étoile in 2013.[9]
