Candango Esporte Clube, the formerCentro de Futebol Zico de Brasília Sociedade Esportiva /CFZ de Brasília, are a Brazilianfootball team fromBrasília,Distrito Federal. They won theCampeonato Brasiliense in 2002, and competed in theCopa do Brasil in2003 and in2005.
Centro de Futebol Zico de Brasília Sociedade Esportiva were founded on August 1, 1999[1] by former footballerZico as a branch ofRio de Janeiro state clubCentro de Futebol Zico Sociedade Esportiva.[2] CFZ de Brasília professionalized their football section on July 15, 2001.[2] The club won theCampeonato Brasiliense in 2002.[3] That season's top goalscorer was CFZ de Brasília's Tiano, with 21 goals.[3]
In April 2025, after the club is acquired by the former footballerSchwenck, changed their name to Candango EC.[4]
CFZ de Brasília competed in theCopa do Brasil in2003, when they were eliminated in the first stage byFortaleza,[5] and in2005, when they were eliminated in the first stage byCoritiba.[6]
