TheCentre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP) is aclimate change research centre inEngland, which studies theeconomics of global warming. It is hosted jointly by theUniversity of Leeds and theLondon School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
CCCEP is part of theGrantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, which is chaired by LordNicholas Stern of Brentford, formerChief Economist of theWorld Bank and author of the widely knownStern Review.[1]
CCCEP was established in 2008: its mission is to advance public and private action on climate change through rigorous, innovative research. In pursuit of its mission, CCCEP has seven research themes in its phase 3 programme:[2]
According to a report published by the centre in 2018 on theeconomics of climate change mitigation theeconomic impacts of climate change will be much larger if cuts ingreenhouse gas emissions are delayed.[3]
CCCEP is co-host of the Place-based Climate Action Network (P-CAN), which is funded by theESRC.[4]
