Ceferino Quintana (August 12, 1894 – March 20, 1977) was an American politician and law enforcement officer who served aslieutenant governor of New Mexico from 1941 through 1943.
Quintana served inWorld War I.[1] He was later aU.S. Marshal, and served as thesheriff ofSan Miguel County, New Mexico, from 1936 through 1940.[2] He was also chair of the San Miguel CountyDemocratic Party in the 1930s and 1940s.[1]
Quintana ran forlieutenant governor of New Mexico in the 1940 election, and won,[3] taking office in 1941.[4] He served as the actinggovernor of New Mexico in February and March 1941.[5] In 1942, he decided to run for sheriff of San Miguel County,[6] but lost the election.[7]
Quintana lived inPecos, New Mexico.[8]
Quintana died at theAlbuquerque Veterans Administration Medical Center on March 20, 1977.[1]
