Cecil LeRoy "Sed"Hartman (May 13, 1900 – February 13, 1988) was an Americancollege football player, coach of college football,college basketball andtrack and field, and athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach atTabor College inTabor, Iowa from 1925 to 1926,Cotner College inLincoln, Nebraska in 1920, and the University of Omaha—now known as theUniversity of Nebraska Omaha—from 1931 to 1942. He was also the head basketball coach at Omaha from 1931 to 1935, tallying a mark of 56–12.[1] Hartman played college football for theNebraska Cornhuskers football team from 1921 to 1923 and was a member of multipleMissouri Valley Conference championship teams.[2]

Hartman served an officer in theUnited States Navy duringWorld War II, reaching the rank of lieutenant commander before his discharge in 1945. He later worked in construction and real estate inOmaha, Nebraska. Hartman died in his sleep from apparent heart failure, on February 13, 1988, at thePaxton Manor in Omaha.[3]
