Please see my note inTalk:Open_source#Category calling forOpen source to exist as a category in its own right.CharlesC14:29, 1 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Open source is one kind of "openness" but it is a technical term with a long history and refers only to a type of software. It is not a general term for anything that is "open".
In this discussionWikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2013_May_31#Category:Open_methodologies there was no consensus to do anything yet somehow "open methodologies" was deleted and all contents merged here. I am not sure what the name of the category for "open methodologies" should be but it definitely is not "open source". Blue Rasberry(talk)06:28, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
