This category is forChurch of England ministers who wereejected or otherwise resigned their livings or charges as a direct consequence of theAct of Uniformity 1662. It includes ministers who held livings at the time, but were not episcopally ordained, under theCommonwealth.The exclusion resulting put an end to "Puritanism" considered as a reform movement in the Church of England, marking a watershed after which it is more accurate to talk ofNonconformism.
