As of thecensus[4] of 2000, there were 1,062 people, 404 households, and 324 families residing in the township. The population density was 32.6 inhabitants per square mile (12.6/km2). There were 622 housing units at an average density of 19.1/sq mi (7.4/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 99.53%White, 0.19%Native American, 0.09% fromother races, and 0.19% from two or more races.Hispanic orLatino of any race were 0.09% of the population.
There were 404 households, out of which 34.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.8% weremarried couples living together, 6.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.8% were non-families. 17.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 2.94.
In the township the population was spread out, with 25.0% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 29.0% from 25 to 44, 25.0% from 45 to 64, and 14.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.3 males.
