Carroll Parish is a formerparish ofLouisiana, formed in 1838 from part ofOuachita Parish. Part of the parish was sectioned off in 1844 to makeMorehouse Parish. Carroll Parish was divided in 1877 intoEast Carroll Parish andWest Carroll Parish.
During and shortly after theReconstruction era, Carroll Parish's representatives in theLouisiana House of Representatives includedP. Jones Yorke andCain Sartain, Republicans.[1]
