Carp and Pine is anEdo period Japanesewoodblock print. Created on commission for a club inKamige byYashima Gakutei, the work depicts a dark-scaledcarp resting in muddy water. The work, which is in the collection of theMetropolitan Museum of Art, was described by the museum as "the quintessential fishsurimono."[1]
