Carmelita 'Menchie' Escio Aguilar-Abalos (born July 2, 1962) is aFilipina politician and the incumbent vice mayor ofMandaluyong since 2022. She previously served as the city's mayor from 2016 to 2022, making her the first female to hold the position. She is the wife of incumbentInterior and Local Government SecretaryBenjamin Abalos Jr., whom she succeeded as mayor.[1][2] She was also a semi-finalist at theBinibining Pilipinas 1981, representingCavite.[3][4]
