Carl August Wegner (born 7 February 1991) is a South Africanrugby union player for the Cheetahs in the EPCR and the Currie Cup. His usual position islock.[1][2]
After the debut withFree State Cheetahs, he joined for FrenchTop 14 teamStade Français from the end of 2012,[3] but returned toBloemfontein at the end of the2013–14 Top 14 season to rejoin theFree State Cheetahs on a deal until the end of 2018.[4]After the experience withToyota Verblitz in the JapaneseTop League, in 2020 he comes back in South Africa to rejoin withFree State Cheetahs andCheetahs[5][6]
In 2021 he signed for ItalianUnited Rugby Championship teamBenetton. He played fo Treviso in2021−22 and2022−23 season.[7][8]
In 2011 Wegner played for theSouth Africa Under 20 team.[1]
