Captain Atlas (Att-Lass) is a character appearing inAmerican comic books published byMarvel Comics. Created by writerMark Gruenwald and artistMike Manley, the characterfirst appeared inQuasar #9 (April 1990).[1] Captain Atlas was introduced as the partner ofDoctor Minerva. He became later a member of the Kree superteamStarforce. The character was also known asTitanium Man at various points in his history.[2]

Captain Atlas first appeared inQuasar #9 (April 1990), and was created by writerMark Gruenwald and artistMike Manley. He was introduced as the new lover ofDoctor Minerva, she had empowered herself and At-lass.[3]
He reappeared as a member of theStarforce team alongside Minerva,Ronan the Accuser, Supremor,Ultimus,Korath the Pursuer and Shatterax, created by theSupreme Intelligence. The team was active during theOperation: Galactic Storm event, tasked with defending the Kree empire from superpowered threats.[2]
He briefly made a return during theInfinity event in as part ofSpymaster's team. He had a new code name calledTitanium Man.[2]
Att-Lass, a native of the planet Kree-Lar, throne-world of the Kree empire, graduates from the Kree Military Academy to become a Captain in the Kree space fleet. He is given command of the Kree light cruiserRamatam. He also becomes a warrior and special operative for theSupreme Intelligence.
Taking the aliasMr. Atlas, he accompaniesDoctor Minerva to anA.I.M. Weapons Exposition. He helps Minerva captureQuasar to obtain his quantum bands. He is later rescued by Quasar, but the hero forces him to leave Earth.[4]
Atlas and Minerva then exploreCaptain Marvel's tomb on one of Saturn's moons, looking for his nega-bands. Atlas is captured by Quasar again and attacked byShi'arImperial Guard members, representatives of a galaxy spanning avian race. Atlas still manages to obtain Mar-Vell's nega-bands.[5] Atlas then battlesWonder Man on Earth, and is captured by him.[6] He is freed by a member of the Guard posing as Minerva, then captured by the rest of the Imperial Guard. The Shi'ar then strip him of the nega-bands,[7] and telepathic Guard memberOracle drains Atlas of strategic information. Atlas is then freed from Shi'ar captivity byShatterax.[8]
Atlas then joins the KreeStarforce and battles theAvengers on Kree-Lar. He survives the genocidal 'Nega-Bomb', which nearly wipes out Kree society. He then apparently commits suicide via his battle-suit's self-destruct program,[9] but survives and goes into hiding with Minerva.[10]
During theInfinity storyline, the Kree send Captain Atlas to Earth, where he poses asTitanium Man and gathersBlizzard,Constrictor,Firebrand IV,Spymaster,Unicorn,Whiplash, andWhirlwind to assist him in stealingIron Man's armor.[11] Atlas later betrays the villains and battles them before being killed by Unicorn.[12][13]

As a Kree, Captain Atlas possesses superhuman physical abilities, which are enhanced by the Kree Psyche-Magnetron. He is a skilled combatant, proficient in various forms of armed and unarmed combat. Additionally, Atlas wields Uni-Beams that project concussive energy beams.
