Location of Stresher Peninsula on Graham Land, Antarctic Peninsula.

Cape Evensen is a cape forming the north side of the entrance toAuvert Bay, on the northwest coast ofStresher Peninsula,Graham Land inAntarctica. It was discovered by theFrench Antarctic Expedition, 1903–05, and named byJean-Baptiste Charcot for Captain C.J. Evensen of theHertha, who explored along the west coast of theAntarctic Peninsula in 1893.[1]

Important Bird Area

The site has been identified as anImportant Bird Area (IBA) byBirdLife International because it supports abreeding colony of about 180 pairs ofimperial shags. Other birds reported as breeding there includekelp gulls andskuas.[2]
