Cape Emine (Bulgarian:Нос Емине[ˈnɔsˈɛminɛ]) is aheadland located at theBulgarian Black Sea Coast. It is located 79 kilometres (49 mi) south ofVarna, 55 km (34 mi) north ofBurgas and 14 km (9 mi) south ofObzor. It forms the tip ofStara Planina. Cape Emine is said to beBulgaria's stormiest cape.
In theMiddle Ages, there was a fortress calledEmona on Cape Emine. Its name was derived fromAemon, the ancient name forStara Planina. Nowadays, only some ruins of the fortress are left. There are also remnants of amonastery and alighthouse. The village ofEmona is located nearby.
Cape Emine is the endpoint of theEuropean walking route E3 (its Bulgarian section is also known as "Kom–Emine").
