Cambaytheriidae[2][3] is a family of primitive four or five-toedungulates native to theIndian subcontinent. They lived during the EarlyEocene epoch and are distinguished by the presence ofbunodont teeth suitable for eating tough vegetation. They are related to, but distinct from, the earlyperissodactyls, and may also be closely related to theanthracobunids as a sister group to the Perissodactyla.[4]
