TheCalifornia Federation of Labor Unions (Formerly California Labor Federation[1]) is a federation oflabor unions in theU.S. state ofCalifornia. It is an affiliate of theAFL–CIO.[2] Founded in 1901 as theCalifornia State Federation of Labor,[3] the CLF has grown to encompass over 1,300 unions representing 2,300,000 workers.[2]

In addition tounion organizing, the CFL is involved inpolicial campaigning andlobbying.[2]
