NGC 3532 (Caldwell 91),[8] also commonly known as thePincushion Cluster,[9][10][11][8]Football Cluster,[12][13] theBlack Arrow Cluster,[14] or theWishing Well Cluster,[4][5][6][7] is anopen cluster some 405parsecs fromEarth[2] in theconstellationCarina. Its population of approximately 150stars of 7thmagnitude or fainter includes sevenred giants[15] and sevenwhite dwarfs.[16][17] On 20 May 1990 it became thefirst target ever observed by theHubble Space Telescope. A line fromBeta Crucis throughDelta Crucis passes somewhat to the north of NGC 3532. The cluster lies between the constellationCrux and the larger but fainter "False Cross"asterism. The 4th-magnitudeCepheid variable star x Carinae (V382 Car) appears near the southeast fringes, but it lies between theSun and the cluster and is not a member of the cluster.

The cluster was first catalogued byNicolas Louis de Lacaille in 1752.[18] It was admired byJohn Herschel, who thought it one of the finest star clusters in the sky,[3][19] with manydouble stars (binary stars).[20]
