Chemical compound

Calcium selenide (CaSe) is achemical compound consisting of the elementscalcium andselenium in equalstoichiometric ratio.[1]

Preparation and properties

[edit]

Calcium selenide can be prepared via the reaction ofcalcium and H2Se in liquid NH3.[2]

Ca + H2Se → CaSe + H2

Calcium selenide reacts withindium(III) selenide in vacuum at high temperature to give CaIn2Se4.[3]

CaSe + In2Se3 → CaIn2Se4
