CStar (pronounced[cestar]) is a Frenchfree-to-air television channel, owned byCanal+.
D17 was launched on 7 October 2012, replacingDirect Star, after Canal+ bought it fromBolloré.[1][2]
D17 was rebrandedCStar on 5 September 2016.[3]
Since 27 February 2018, a sister channel namedCStar Hits France is available exclusively onCanal+ channel 180, airing only French music clips.[4]
CStar's programming has a musical predominant. The channel also airs documentaries, concerts, series, dramas, movies and previously Japanese anime.
