Connor Marc Colquhoun (/kəˈhuːn/kə-HOON;[4] born 26 July 1996), known online asCDawgVA, is aWelshstreamer,YouTuber, voice actor, and podcaster currently based inTokyo,Japan. He is affiliated with theKadokawa-backed agencyGeeXPlus.

Career

Colquhoun created his YouTube channel CDawgVA in February 2014.[5]

In November 2019, Colquhoun moved to Tokyo to begin working as an influencer for theKadokawa-backed agency GeeXPlus.[6] The effort was to help promote/introduce anime and Japanese culture to the rest of the world through his content.[6] In February 2020, Colquhoun joinedJoey Bizinger (The Anime Man) andGarnt Maneetapho (Gigguk) in creating and hosting a weekly podcast calledTrash Taste, where they discuss anime, manga, otaku culture, and their experiences while living in Japan.[7][8] The first episode was released on 5 June 2020, all episodes are available on YouTube,Spotify, andiTunes.[9]

In both 2020 and 2021, Colquhoun was a presenter at theCrunchyroll Anime Awards.[10][11] In August 2020, Colquhoun participated in a livestreamedchess tournament calledTournament Arc, hosted byChess.com for anime YouTubers.[12] In the finals, Colquhoun lost against fellowTrash Taste hostGarnt Maneetapho.[13] In July 2021's sequel championship,Tournament Arc 2, Colquhoun finished in fourth place overall.[14]

On 11 December 2022, Colquhoun participated in a surprisechess-slap match withLudwig Ahgren at theMogul Chessboxing Championship, held at theGalen Center in Los Angeles, United States.[15][16] On 1 March 2023, Colquhoun announced that he would be exclusively streaming on Twitch after signing an agreement with thelivestreaming service.[17] In 2023, Colquhoun participated and wonPogChamps 5.[18]

Videos

Many of Colquhoun's videos feature himcosplaying and role-playing, with roles ranging from hosts, butlers, pole dancers, andvisual kei musicians.[19][20] His YouTube channel gained popularity due to his anime-related content, with his favorite beingJoJo's Bizarre Adventure.[21]

In 2022, Colquhoun andChris Broad participated in an eight-day, 750 km (470 mi) 'cyclethon' acrossHokkaido to raise funds for theImmune Deficiency Foundation (IDF). The cycle was streamed live on Twitch and raised over $310,000 USD.[22] The event was later nominated for, and won, the category of Best Philanthropic Stream Event at the2023 Streamer Awards.[23]

In 2023, Colquhoun and Broad followed-up with a second cyclethon acrossKyushu. The nine-day, 900 km (560 mi) bike ride fromFukuoka toKitakyushu, via the perimeter of Kyushu island, raised over $555,000 USD for the Immune Deficiency Foundation.[24][25] Later that year, Colquhoun was the auctioneer of a charity auction atthe Biltmore Los Angeles. The auction featured unique items from various Twitch and YouTube streamers, raising over $329,000 USD.[26]

In 2024, Colquhoun and Broad did a third cyclethon fromYamaguchi toTokyo. The fourteen-day, 1,000 km (620 mi) bike ride included guest cyclistsGarnt Maneetapho,Felix Kjellberg, Peter Macy, and Natsuki Aso; raising over $1 million USD for the Immune Deficiency Foundation.[27][28] Later that year, Colquhoun also organized and presented his second charity auction on Twitch, raising a total of $517,874 USD for the Immune Deficiency Foundation with contributions from streamers likeJerma985,Ludwig, andPokimane.[29][30][31]
