C-C motif chemokine 22 is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theCCL22gene.[4][5][6]

Theprotein encoded by this gene is secreted bydendritic cells andmacrophages, and elicits its effects on its target cells by interacting with cell surfacechemokine receptors such asCCR4.[7] The gene for CCL22 is located in humanchromosome 16 in a cluster with otherchemokines calledCX3CL1 andCCL17.[8][9]
