Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 15 (CCL15) is a smallcytokine belonging to the CCchemokine family that is also known as leukotactin-1, MIP5 and HCC-2. CCL15 is expressed inliver, small intestine, colon, and in certainleukocytes andmacrophages of thelung.[1] It ischemotactic forneutrophils, monocytes, andlymphocytes and elicits its effects by binding to cell surfacechemokine receptors likeCCR1 andCCR3.[2][3] The human CCL15gene spans fourexons and is located in a head-to-tail orientation onchromosome 17 with the gene of another CC chemokine known asCCL14.[4]
