Cyrillus Xavier Martyn (Tamil:சிரிலஸ் சேவியர் மார்ட்டின்; born 14 March 1908) was aSri Lankan Tamil politician and Member of Parliament.[1]
Martyn stood as theIllankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi's (Federal Party) candidate inJaffna at the1965 parliamentary election but was defeated by theAll Ceylon Tamil Congress candidateG. G. Ponnambalam.[2] He was ITAK's candidate in the constituency at the1970 parliamentary election. He won the election and enteredParliament.[3] He was expelled from ITAK in 1971 for supporting the new republican constitution.[4][5]
Martyn contested the1977 parliamentary election as an independent candidate but was defeated by theTamil United Liberation Front candidateV. Yogeswaran.[6] Martyn was aRoman Catholic.[7]
