César López Fretes (21 March 1923 – 13 July 2001) was afootballstriker fromParaguay.
López Fretes started his career atAtlántida Sport Club fromBarrio Obrero and was later transferred toOlimpia Asunción. He was part of theParaguay squad at the1950 World Cup and was one of the goal scorers for Paraguay.[1] He also played for Paraguay in theCopa América tournament.
After retiring, he became a coach and managed several teams in Paraguay andColombia, where he is remembered byAtlético Nacional fans for the championship he led the team to in 1973.[2] He also managedDeportivo Pereira andUnión Magdalena.[3] López also coached theColombia national football team and died in that country in 2001.
