Thelist of Alberta by-elections includes everyby-election held in theCanadian province ofAlberta. By-elections occur whenever there is a vacancy in theLegislative Assembly, although an imminentgeneral election may allow the vacancy to remain until thedissolution of parliament. Until 1926 incumbent members were required to recontest their seats upon being appointed to Cabinet. TheseMinisterial by-elections were almost always uncontested.
