TheBust of René Goscinny (Polish:Popiersie René Goscinnego;French:Buste de René Goscinny) is a sculpture inWarsaw, Poland, in the district ofPraga-North, placed in front of theRené Goscinny French High School at 4 and 6 Walecznych Street. It has a form of thebronze bust ofRené Goscinny, a 20th-century cartoonist and book author, best known as the author ofLittle Nicolas andAsterix.
The monument was designed by Jacek Kowalski and unveiled on 25 September 2013. The ceremony was attended by his daughter, Anne Goscinny.[1][2] It was the first monument in the world dedicated to him.[3]
The monument is placed in front of theRené Goscinny French High School at 4 and 6 Walecznych Street, in the district ofPraga-South, within the neighbourhood ofSaska Kępa. It has the form of abronze bust ofRené Goscinny, 20th-century cartoonist and comic writer, best known as the author ofLittle Nicolas andAsterix. The statue is placed on a pedestal, which features a plaque with an inscription as transcribed below.[1]
