
The Buseck Center for Meteorite Studies was founded in 1960, on theTempe Campus ofArizona State University, and houses the world's largest university-basedmeteorite collection. The collection contains specimens from over 1,600 separatemeteorite falls andfinds, and is actively used internationally forplanetary,geological andspace science research. The Center also operates a meteoritemuseum which is open to the public.

In 2021, the Center for Meteorite Studies was named in honor of ProfessorPeter R. Buseck.[1]
