TheBurmese prinia (Prinia cooki) is a species ofbird in the familyCisticolidae. It and theAnnam prinia (P. rocki) were formerly lumped withDeignan's prinia (P. polychroa) as the brown prinia.[1][2]
It is found inSoutheast Asia, where it is distributed from centralMyanmar west to the western edge ofThailand andLaos, and north to the southernYunnan Province inChina. It ismonotypic and has no known subspecies. It was split fromP. rocki andP. polychroa following a phylogenetic study published in 2019.[1][2][3]
