Burgoyne Bay Provincial Park is aprovincial park in British Columbia, Canada located on southwesternSaltspring Island nearFulford Harbour. The parks faces northwest toSansum Narrows, which is the channel between Saltspring Island andVancouver Island.Mount Maxwell Provincial Park lies adjacent to the north.
Burgoyne Bay was named in 1859 byCaptain Richards for CommanderHugh Talbot Burgoyne VC, an officer aboardHMSGanges.[1] The park was established in 2004 via private land acquisition[2] with an area of 334 hectares (830 acres), and further expanded in 2007 to 524 hectares (1,290 acres).[3]
