Abuilder's plate is usually ametal plate that is attached to railwaylocomotives androlling stock,bogies,construction equipment,trucks,automobiles, largehousehold appliances,bridges,ships and more. It gives such information as the name of themanufacturer, the place and country of manufacture, themodel number, theserial number, as well as the date of manufacture or date of fabrication of the item or unit.
