In 2006 and 2001 , Ashok Kumar Deb ofAITC & in 1996, fromINC won the Budge Budge Assembly constituency defeating his nearest rivals Ratan Bagchi ofCPI(M) in 2006,[4] Kali Bhandari ofCPI(M) in 2001[5] and Dipak Mukherjee ofCPI(M) in 1996.[6] Dipak Mukherjee ofCPI(M) defeated Ashok Kumar Deb ofINC in 1991.[7] Kshitibhusan Roy Barman ofCPI(M) defeated Lal Bahadur Singh ofINC in 1987,[8] Nimai Chand Kanra ofINC in 1982[9] and Bipulananda ofINC in 1977.[10][11]
