Francis David "Buddy"O'Grady (January 19, 1920 – February 19, 1992)[1] was an American professionalbasketball player and coach.
A 5'11"guard fromGeorgetown University, O'Grady played professionally in theBasketball Association of America (BAA) from 1946 to 1949. He competed for theWashington Capitols,St. Louis Bombers, andProvidence Steamrollers and averaged 3.7points per game.[1]
For three seasons from 1949 to 1952, O'Grady served as head coach of theGeorgetown Hoyas, with an overall record of 35-36 and no post-season tournament appearances. He was elected to Georgetown's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1958.[2][3]
