Bruno Delbonnel,ASC,AFC, (born 1957) is a French cinematographer, known for works from a number of high-profile directors,[1] includingJean-Pierre Jeunet,Tim Burton, theCoen brothers,Joe Wright andWes Anderson.

Life and career

Delbonnel was born inNancy,Meurthe-et-Moselle,France and graduated in 1978 from theESEC (Paris,Île-de-France).

Delbonnel's accolades include aCésar Award and aEuropean Film Award, as well as sixAcademy Award nominations and fourBAFTA Award nominations.

He was appointed in 2019 as the head of the cinematography department of theParis film school,La Fémis.[2][3]

Style

His work tends to feature very stylised colour palettes, often very warm and featuring yellows and greens as prominent and ubiquitous colours, which often tint the whole image. Also, often in his work, the film stock has a very apparent, well-defined grain structure.
