Bromley South railway station is on theChatham Main Line, serving the town centre and high street ofBromley, south-eastLondon,England. It is 10 miles 71 chains (17.5 km) down the line fromLondon Victoria and is situated betweenShortlands andBickley.
The station and most trains that serve it are operated bySoutheastern, with some services also operated byThameslink. It is inLondon fare zone 5.

The station, initially consisting of two platforms, was opened in November 1858 by theLondon, Chatham and Dover Railway.[citation needed] Electric trains, the first in Kent, began running on the Southern Railway's third rail system between London, Bromley South andOrpington in July 1925.[citation needed] The last passenger steam trains to serve Bromley South did so in 1959, when lines to theKent Coast were third rail electrified.[citation needed]
Between 1986 and 1999, locomotive-hauled trains between the Kent Coast, theWest Midlands, theNorth West and, for a time, Scotland called at Bromley South.[citation needed]
Services at Bromley South are operated bySoutheastern andThameslink usingClass 375,377,465,466 and700EMUs.[6]
