Brittany Margaret Ratcliffe (born February 7, 1994) is an American professionalsoccer player who plays as aforward for theWashington Spirit of theNational Women's Soccer League (NWSL).
Raised in theWilliamstown section ofMonroe Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey, Ratcliffe played soccer atPaul VI High School.[2]
Ratcliffe played for the University of Virginia. She appeared in 93 matches throughout her career there.[3]
Ratcliffe was drafted byBoston Breakers in the 2nd round of the2016 NWSL College Draft.[4] She signed with Boston in April 2016 and made 15 appearances and 5 starts that season.[5][3] Boston later waived Ratcliffe in February 2017.[6]
Ratcliffe spent the 2017 preseason with theChicago Red Stars; after she didn't make their final roster she signed with FC Kansas City on April 14.[3][7]
AfterFC Kansas City ceased operations following the 2017 season, Ratcliffe was officially added to the roster of theUtah Royals FC on February 8, 2018.[8] On June 16, Ratcliffe scored a goal in second half stoppage time to give Utah a 1–0 win over the league leadingNorth Carolina Courage; her goal was voted Goal of the Week.[9]
Ratcliffe signed with theNorth Carolina Courage in 2021.[10]
On January 11, 2024, Ratcliffe signed a three-year contract with theWashington Spirit after entering free agency.[11]
