British Muhajirs (برطانوی مہاجر) areBritish citizens or residents who are ofMuhajir origin. They comprise a sizeable number of theBritish Pakistani community of the UK.

Demographics

The total Muhajir population in the United Kingdom is believed to be 269,000, according to the 2011 census.[1] They are considered the most educated out of the entire Pakistani diaspora in the UK.[2]

Politics

British Muhajirs are a politically active ethnic group, with the formerly largest Muhajir nationalist party,MQM-London, being based in London and its leader living in London.[3] MQM has registered itself as a company in UK.[4] British Muhajirs, such as Altaf Hussain, had exercised great political power in Pakistan, until 2015 and 2016Nine Zero raids.[5]
