bridgeOS is anembeddedoperating system created and developed byApple for use exclusively with its hardware. bridgeOS runs on theT seriesApple silicon processors[1][2][3][4] and operates devices such as theOLEDtouchscreen strip called the "Touch Bar",[5]Touch ID fingerprint sensor,SSD encryption, andcooling fans.[6]

At boot time, thebootloader executes the bridgeOS kernel, then the bridgeOS kernel passes off totheUEFI firmware.[7]

bridgeOS is based on Apple'swatchOS.[8]
