Briar is acensus-designated place (CDP) inParker,Tarrant andWise counties in theU.S. state ofTexas, near the west side ofEagle Mountain Lake.The population was 7,035 in 2020.
According to theUnited States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 21.9 square miles (56.8 km2), of which 20.5 square miles (53.0 km2) is land and 1.5 square miles (3.9 km2), or 6.83%, is water.[3]

Briar was incorporated as a city prior to the1970 U.S. census;[12] and after disincorporation, it was listed as acensus designated place in the1990 U.S. census.[14]

Briar has three convenience stores, a liquor store and a bar. One of the stores also has a grill-type restaurant. It is located close toAzle andBoyd, towns with a wide variety of retail businesses. Briar has several churches and a quaint, small-town feel.
