Brian Pinho (born May 11, 1995) is an American professionalice hockeycenter for theCharlotte Checkers of theAmerican Hockey League (AHL).[1] He was drafted 174th overall, in the sixth round of the2013 NHL Entry Draft by theWashington Capitals.
Pinho played college hockey for theProvidence Friars and was part of the team that won the2015 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. He made his NHL debut on August 16, 2020, in aStanley Cup playoffs game against theNew York Islanders.[2]
On September 17, 2020, theWashington Capitals signed Pinho to a two-year contract extension.[3]
As a free agent from the Capitals, Pinho was signed one-year, two-way contract with theNew Jersey Devils on July 13, 2022.[4] In his lone season within the Devils organization in2022–23, Pinho played exclusively with AHL affiliate, theUtica Comets, collecting 10 goals and 28 points in 53 regular season games.
Pinho was signed as a free agent to a one-year, two-way contract with theNew York Islanders for the2023–24 season on July 5, 2023.[5] He was assigned to AHL affiliate, theBridgeport Islanders for the duration of his contract with New York, posting 34 points through 72 regular season games.
As a free agent, Pinho opted to remain within the Islanders organization, signing a one-year AHL contract to continue with Bridgeport on July 3, 2024.[6]
Following two seasons within the Islanders organization, Pinho left at the conclusion of his contract and continued his tenure in the AHL by signing a two-year deal with the Charlotte Checkers, affiliate to theFlorida Panthers, on July 2, 2025.[7]
