Breechface

Thebreechface is the front part of thebreechblock that makes contact with thecartridge in afirearm. The breech block (or breechblock) in a gun is what holds a round in thechamber, and absorbs therecoil of the cartridge when the round is fired, preventing the cartridge case from moving.[1]
