Brandon Soo Hoo (born November 2, 1995) is an American actor and martial artist. He is known for playing Tran in the 2008 filmTropic Thunder and for his series regular role on theCartoon Network sketch comedy seriesIncredible Crew. Soo Hoo played Scott Fuller on theEl Rey Network horror-drama seriesFrom Dusk till Dawn: The Series, based on thefilm of the same name.
Brandon Soo Hoo was born inPasadena, California on November 2, 1995. He is of Chinese descent.[1]
Brandon began his acting career at the age of 10, when he was featured intelevision advertisements forToys "R" Us,Land Rover, andExxonMobil. In 2007, he had a minor role onSesame Street. Soo Hoo made his feature film debut inBen Stiller's comedy filmTropic Thunder (2008), playing the role of Tran, a young leader of the Flaming Dragon gang; he won aYoung Artist Award for his performance. In 2009, he portrayed YoungStorm Shadow in the action filmG.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and was again nominated for a Young Artist Award for his performance.
Soo Hoo guest starred on theNBC comedy seriesMy Name is Earl and theFox sitcom'Til Death. In 2010, he had guest starring role on NBC's comedy seriesCommunity. Soo Hoo then had a recurring role as Connor onNickelodeon'sSupah Ninjas. In 2013, he co-starred as Fly Molo in the science fiction filmEnder's Game, alongsideHarrison Ford,Ben Kingsley, andAsa Butterfield.[2] Soo Hoo was then part of the regular cast of theCartoon Network sketch comedy seriesIncredible Crew, created byNick Cannon.
From 2014 to 2016, he starred as Scott Fuller on theEl Rey Network horror-drama seriesFrom Dusk till Dawn: The Series, a television adaptation ofRobert Rodriguez's film of the same name.[3] In 2015, he starred as Seth in the filmEverything Before Us. In 2016, he provided the voice ofGarfield Logan / Beast Boy in theDC Comics animateddirect-to-video filmJustice League vs. Teen Titans.[4]
In September 2018, he appeared in aWong Fu Production video "Asian Bachelorette 2", a sequel to "Asian Bachelorette".[5]
In 2022, Soo Hoo co-founded Staxs Grill, a burger restaurant in Cambodia.[6][7][8]
In 2023, Soo Hoo was cast to play the lead role in theNetflix animated seriesMech Cadets.[9][10][11] He voiced the protagonist in the 2024Paramount+ animated filmThe Tiger's Apprentice.[12]
Soo Hoo is a practitioner of multiple forms ofmartial arts. He is ablack belt intaekwondo and has trained inkung fu (Wing Chun,Wushu andSouthern Fist),Muay Thai andkarate.[1]
