Braian Óscar Ojeda Rodríguez (pronounced "Bry-ahn", born 27 June 2000) is a Paraguayan professionalfootballer who plays as acentral midfielder forReal Salt Lake and theParaguay national team.[3]
Ojeda began his career withParaguayan Primera División teamOlimpia.[3] He was promoted into senior football at the end of the2018 campaign, appearing for his professional debut on 2 December in a 3–2 victory overSol de América; he was substituted off at half-time.[3] Another appearances followed a week later against3 de Febrero, as Olimpia received their forty-second league title.[3] He also participated in threeCopa Paraguay games that year.[4][5] In March 2019, Ojeda renewed his contract.[6][7] In July, after not featuring in2019, Ojeda was loaned out toDefensa y Justicia of theArgentine Primera División.[8][9]
On 31 August 2021, Ojeda moved toEFL Championship sideNottingham Forest on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.[10] He made his debut in a 0-0 draw againstLuton Town on 23 November 2021.[11]
On 4 August 2022, Ojeda was loaned toMajor League Soccer sideReal Salt Lake for the 2022–23 season.[12] On 1 August 2023, the deal was made permanent and Ojeda joined Salt Lake on a permanent transfer.[13][14]
Ojeda represented Paraguay atU17 andU20 level.[3] He appeared eight times at the2017 South American U-17 Championship in Chile, as they qualified for the2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India; where he featured againstMali,New Zealand and theUnited States.[3][15][16] In 2019, Ojeda played three times at theSouth American U-20 Championship.[3][17]
In 2020, Ojeda held representative honours with the Paraguay national under-23 squad at the2020 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament.
He made his debut for thesenior squad on 2 September 2021 in aWorld Cup qualifier againstEcuador, a 0–2 away loss. He substitutedHugo Martínez in the 65th minute.[18]
